Regular Events

Darton Council Meeting

Council meeting is where the business of running the Shire happens. Reports from the Council members, bids for future events and reports on events coming up are recieved. Any issue relating to the interface with the "real" world occurs here.

Darton Council meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at the same location and time as Arts and Sciences.

Arts and Sciences

Arts and Sciences evenings are where citizens of the Shire teach, learn, discuss and do Medieval and Renaissance Arts and Sciences. Any craft done during the Medieval or Renaissance period can be recreated in the SCA. We have citizens who are calligraphers, book binders, cooks, tent makers, shoe makers, and seamstresses, just to name a few.

Arts and Sciences happens every Wednesday evening from 7:30 to 9:30pm at the Johnsonville Community Centre, unless otherwise stated on the schedule.

Fighters' practice

Fighters practice is where citizens of the Shire practice the medieval marshal arts of the SCA. Darton currently has no fighters practice scheduled. Fighters do attend the St Aemigdius' fighters' practice in Karori.

Costumed Events

Darton hosts two major costumed events during the year. Darton Collegium over Queens Birthday weekend and Darton Anniversary on or around 21 August. Other costumed events do occur and will be posted on this website.

Darton also attends events held by other medieval enactment groups in the Wellington Region. Most frequently March and November camps hosted by MLH.
