Failed to advertise ASAP for Marshal office, but two candidates out their names forward to the Kingdom Earl Marshal for consideration. Just waiting to hear back from him to start the commentary period.

Heavy Fight Practice: Currently ongoing most weeks with 2 or 3 fighters. No injuries or other problems.
Fencing: Currently ongoing most weeks with 2 to 5 fighters. No injuries or other problems.
        All the groups active fencers (5) made it to Fencing Fest in Brisbane the weekend of August 5th, 2017.
This is likely my last report as group Marshal, as I am due to be replaced by a more efficient model.

Rain sucks. Health sucks. Two shoots in the last quarter. Need a new source for target backs.
Combat archery classes and an IKAC to be announced to happen in the future
Go to Bowman's gathering, it sounded like fun


*Events

Darton Anniversary 25-27 August. Three weeks!
There will be a Brewers guild grading at DA.
There will be a market at DA.
Tokens have been ordered.

Sword and archery symposium (non SCA) last weekend in October. Including two archery masters! Book now!

Possible event - Luan wants to put forward a bid for Nov Crown 2019. He will bring forth some ideas to council in the future.

Possibility of fundraising shoot a knight at Thornton Faire in Dec. Also Karori Carnival in Feb


*General Business

Featherston Cross Creek Festival - Sancha has asked that the SCA have a presence at the festival on the 2nd of September.
Have a large area very close to the steampunk chaps, in the area where people aren't selling things.
Have the gear for a shoot a knight.
Sunshades would be good for extra shade
Portable holes with canvas walls for shoot a knight

Follow up event in Featherston from train fest in the works.

Buy swap sell event - open up to other groups for a shift your shite day.

Fiora has offered to do heraldry stuff, speak to your friendly local or SG herald to submit!

Llewellyn is going to put a proposal to SCANZ to pay for 50% of a fitted out a container at Faire. Ildhafn is looking at chipping in a quarter of the cost for storage space. Is Darton interested in chipping in some money to get some storage space? (yes, depending on how healthy our bank balance is)
We should talk about specifics of what to leave down there - benches, tables, etc. We could look at stainless steel feast gear? Candles, lanterns.

Shire marquee
Can we do a stopgap with tarps? Bernard proposed we have a limit of $1000 for the project of tarps and wood frame as a stopgap, Kazamera seconded, no objections. Llewellyn suggested canvas instead of tarps which will cost about the same but he'll need to check what the availability of canvas is and what colour.  Deadline of a week and a half to get info on canvas costs and availability
Fundraising to happen. Probably most cost effective to put it on a shipping container. Still looking into shipping options. Bows for shoot a knight we has. Bernard is happy to organise.
