Officer Reports:

Seneschal –Helewys
The position of Seneschal has now been advertised via FB and the Darton email list.  Applications and expressions of interest close on Monday 5 October.  Please send your application to Bartholomew – who is the deputy Kingdom Seneschal by the close-off date.
The group Seneschal is one of two must-have positions for the Shire to keep going, and therefore it is a position that must be filed.  If you want to know more, please ask me.

Carterton daffodil festival for Sherwater 	100.00

Very little happened this month. We paid the fee for the Daffodil Festival for the Hamlet of Sherwater, however this event was cancelled due to the current Covid situation. Maggie has been in contact regarding the account that the refund for this will go in to. 

Marshal – Gordianus:
Stabby and hitting have happened 

We have authorised 3 new fencers – congratulations to Sophie, Kaia and Sonja

Scribal Warden – Iarnulfr:
Need someone to do illumination.  Fiora indicated interest and will set up with Bernard and Iarnulfr to do this.

Herald – Bernard:
Nothing to report. 

Events: 
Day of Fun – this was attended by a few of us.  We had a new person come along – welcome Leonie – I hope that you enjoyed yourself and we will see you again.
Carterton Daffodil Fair – this was cancelled by the Carterton council.  

Upcoming Events:
The following events are still on the board:
Sometime in October - A Flight Shoot (still to be confirmed) – still waiting for venue; 
14 November - Day of Fun and War Practice; and finally 
19 December - Sherwater Summer Feast

General Business:
Kid’s Archery at the Dell – 31 October 2020 (Saturday) (rain-off date – 1 Nov 2020 (Sunday) – this is a private corporate event.
An email was received to the Darton Seneschal, who forwarded to Luan to discuss details further, from an organiser of a kids event on October 31st at the dell and want to do archery for them. 
Luan has been in contact with the organiser, and from what I can gather:
- It is for 600 children over the course of a day between 9 am - 5 pm 
- Children range from 5-15
- This would be Fixed cost 
- No costumes required 
- Koha would paid
On Discussion with the group of members in attendance (actual and via zoom), it was decided that as not enough members were prepared to participate with this event that Luan contact the organisers and say sorry – thanks but no thanks.

Other Business:
Possible Halloween Feast to be held at Elmwood – nothing formal.  Budget to be done and event proposal to be submitted by Bernard.

Future meetings to be held via Zoom. – Linnette requested that future Council and A&S meetings to also include Zoom.  Note:  This was discussed by Helewys at the Kingdom Seneschal’s meeting, and the KS recommended that Zoom be available for members to attend monthly Council meetings only.  Weekly A&S and Fighter’s training is not required to be made available for members not in actual attendance.  For classes on specific topics of interest for individual members there are many on-line tutorials available from other SCA groups / members online.
