Officer Reports: Seneschal –Helewys Discussion from the Seneshal’s meeting for the brief period that I could hear it – there will be NO Kingdom events held while any of the borders are closed – NZ/AU or any State borders in AU. My term as Darton Seneschal is due to expire in 5 months (1 January 2021). Please talk to me if you would like to know what is involved in holding this position. Reeve – Johanna Opening Balance: $7,368.88 Incomings: Stabbython 309.00 Outgoings: Stabbython Food - 252.00 Closing Balance: $7,425.88 Marshal – Gordianus: Fencing continues; Heavy continues. No one has told me about injuries so assuming none. Looking at a mini stabathon on August 30th - AKA I’m showing up for heavy on Sunday morning, and will be around Sunday afternoon if people want to do fencing.  Not an official event.  Discussion – Bring a Plate for lunch etc. Could be an alternative to running a Tournament to decide our Champions for Heavy / Rapier – e.g. Darton Pandemic Champions. Scribal Warden – Iarnulfr: Received an email from Kingdom Scribal officer that there is a task for doing a scroll has been allocated to him / Darton for calligraphy and painting? Herald – Bernard: No report. Events: Stabbython 2 happened on Saturday 4 July 2020. A total of 17 adults and 1 minor registered, with 3 of us not participating in the sessions, but helping in our own way! Due to the event being reduced to 1 day, and the Steward dropping the prices, which resulted in non-member’s being charged $17 (including the SCANZ levy) most of them generously donated the $3 change from the $20 cash payment to the event – the event has ended up with a small profit of $20.00 Upcoming Events: The following events are still on the board: 12 September - Day of Fun (working with hot stuff - making Portable Banner holders), coat hooks for use in the barn; Sometime in October - A Flight Shoot (still to be confirmed); 14 November - Day of Fun and War Practice; and finally 19 December - Sherwater Summer Feast – event proposal and budget received and approved. General Business: Gambeson making for new fighters (fencer’s and heavy’s)? – It was decided that it would not be necessary to have a work-shop / day for doing this as the fighter’s that are requiring a gambeson have already organised themselves for making the necessary gambesons. Email from Jochen Schwaibe – Lochac version of ‘Settlers of Catan’ – Helewys received an Email from Jochen and the Group decided that our preferred options for his version of “Settlers of Catan” are: 1. Wool (Alpahas etc and many spinners and weavers within the group). 2. Ore – we have iron-makers within our group 3. Lumber – we have wood-workers. 4. Grain – for the cooks 5. Brick – we don’t seem to use this resource. Helewys to respond to Jochen. Sherwater – proposing the following events: Carterton Daffodil Day – September 13 2020 – Shoot-A-Knight – increasing the profile for the Hamlet – will need better street signage. – Agreed that provided the Covid-19 restriction do not cancel this event, those that are willing will attend to help out. Postings will be made via FB on Darton or Sherwater pages. Easter 2021 (1 April – 6 April 2021) – camping event in Eketahuna – Event proposal submitted and approved. June 2021 (Queen’s Birthday weekend?) – collegium and open display – similar to the first one they held in Carterton. Other Business: Website – where are we with this? – no idea as no one that is involved with this project attended Council. Krae Glas Baronial Changeover – Helewys received and email and Invite for Darton to participate via online – Zoom / YouTube. Dated – 12 September 2020. LOTS (Lochac Officer’s Training Symposium) – this is happening online on 19 & 20 September 2020 via Zoom. Bookings are open until 14 September 2020.
