Stabbython: This has not been finalised – no money and/or receipts received from event. Event stewards currently overseas, and have not submitted a formal report yet. Sherwater “Medieval Crafts Expo”. Marienna: The event has happened. Mede the newspaper twice – once before and once after the event. The event went well, people and local council very excited about it. Charged less than quoted for the venue. Printing was most expensive part – Total cost for event = $495.39 Less Advance payment $280.00 Balance owing to Marienna $215.39 Something that could work in other context as: - a profile raiser – successful; - indirect recruitment – works well – may have gained a family and other to Hamlet day. What next? – Daffodil Day – Sunday 8 September from 9.30 am to mid-afternoon – Shoot-A-Knight (fundraiser) – it makes us visible, it is different to the other stalls that will be there and brings in $$$ for the Hamlet / Shire. Cost - $100 for stall space (and allow $50 - $100 for damaged arrow replacement). Moved by Luan, that we agree to participate in this event, and pay for the stall space; Seconded – William; Agreed by all. Feast in November / December – run in conjunction with Hamlet Day – a small tournament – intended for new-comers and existing shire and hamlet members – for a fun relaxed social day. Proposed date 23 November. Approved by all Featherston Expo – 29 September (Sunday) – discussions as to what this involved and from this it was decided it would be up to individuals if they wished to attend. Likely that Sancha and Marienna will be there. (Note from discussions with Sancha during DA, this event is a “Clubs and Groups” Day in which each group is given a single table in which to advertise or display information about their group activities. It would not be similar to the Carterton Expo in which the SCA organised and had all the space in the venue to set up displays – also not the same as the Featherston Railway fair that we have been to in the past). Darton Anniversary: Registrations now closed. Volunteers required to assist Robyn in set up of the Hunt on Sunday morning. GENERAL BUSINESS: New Events: Thorndon Fair (Sunday 1 December 2019, 10 am – 3pm) – Laun and Robyn put forward for discussion that expressions of interest are now required to be lodged if we want to do Shoot-A-Knight at Thorndon Fair this year. Location will be same place as last year – in the drive of Premier House. This is purely a fund-raiser event and we do not expect to recruit any new members from this event. Discussion was had and the need for better barriers, which Luan indicated would be available for use to stop people trying to enter from the side / bush area. Agreed that this event is one we should support – as it is a good fund-raiser.
